Blurb (from goodreads):

After twelve years of secret training, Atticus O’Sullivan is finally ready to bind his apprentice, Granuaile, to the earth and double the number of Druids in the world. But on the eve of the ritual, the world that thought he was dead abruptly discovers that he’s still alive, and they would much rather he return to the grave.

Having no other choice, Atticus, his trusted Irish wolfhound, Oberon, and Granuaile travel to the base of Mount Olympus, where the Roman god Bacchus is anxious to take his sworn revenge—but he’ll have to get in line behind an ancient vampire, a band of dark elves, and an old god of mischief, who all seem to have KILL THE DRUID at the top of their to-do lists.

My Scores:

Writing Style: Top Notch

Characters: Memorable

Plot: So Many Plot Twists

Overall: Totally Obsessed

This novel features a frantic race to get Granuaile bound to the earth (to do some magic!!). Until now the novels have been entirely from the POV of Atticus, but in this novel is a surprise addition of Granualie's POV. Her voice was very similar to Atticus in her thinking patterns, so I'm hoping she will become more unique in subsequent novels.

I was a little surprised at the twelve year time jump (for Granuaile’s training to end) since there were a few loose ends I wanted tied up. It was also surprising to me that these characters managed to have 12 years of peace, despite faking their deaths. In any case, as always, there are dangerous adventures and fun times to be had. I am still totally obsessed with this series.

Goodreads Rating: 5 out of 5 stars
